Blogging with Science
Anyone have any ideas about how I could use blogging in my science class. I currently use it with assignments for students to complete, but I want them to be writing their opinions but my topics right now are the layers of the Earth, Plate Tectonics, and Continental Drift Theory. Any suggestions??

Hmm this is a tough one. My co-teacher and I are teaching the same topics right now in our 8th grade science class. We have done quite a few weblabs but not a blog. The only thing I can think of is having the students write down reflections in the form of blogs after completing labs in the classroom. We had our students handwrite reflections based on an earthquake safe house they build and tested in class last week but this reflection could have been done in the form of a blog were students would also be required to comment on the blog posts of classmates. In the handwritten reflection, students wrote about how they designed their house and what they would change for next time.
